White Shark Trust - Field Research Assistant - September 2005

The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

David Anthony JONES (Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK), Timo SECKLER (Ellenberg, Germany) and Yara HALABI (London, England)

Andy Brandy CASAGRANDE IV has been our assistant, guest and especially friend since 2003, and he has been living in Gansbaai and assisting the White Shark Trust during most of 2004 and now again in 2005.

Timo SECKLER (Ellenberg, Germany) has been our assistant from the 15th of July to the 15th of August. Timo left for Mossel Bay on the 15th of July to assist Ryan JOHNSON with his active telemetry tracking of White Sharks in the bay. On the 18th of September, we welcomed Timo back to Gansbaai and the White Shark Trust!!!

	On Monday the 19th of September, we welcomed Jose Luis 'Pepe' Zoniga, from Mexico on board Lamnidae, and welcomed back Timo from Mossel Bay. Pepe has been working for Dyer Island Cruises for nearly two months, and he is returning to Mexico in a few days. Ugly overcast and cold day with drizzle, contrary to the 0% rain forecast! We observed five different White Sharks today, and unfortunately, it certainly was not the most exciting day... But we have had some great days this month! This will be the last field day until the end of October for Lamnidae. Michael is going to Europe to give some presentations and fund raising activities.
